Appalachian/Celtic Festival
And Highland Games

The beginnings of the HCA were challenging
The Heritage Conservancy Alliance Festival had its beginnings in 2001 under the auspices of the Tunnel Hill Historical Foundation, and was sponsored by the THHS for the first three years. In 2004, a small group of dedicated individuals formed our now non-profit organization. We have accepted the challenge of preserving and continuing the original intent of the festival,
We truly believe that the preservation and celebration of  one's heritage is worthwhile not only for yourself but for the generations to come.
We invite all interested individuals and corporations to participate in our festival by either becoming a Friend of the Festival, a sponsor and/or a volunteer to help preserve our rich and colorful heritage.

President: Michael Whitfield;  Vice-President: Christina R. Liner;
Treasurer: Rev. James Dykes; Secretary: Christina K. Ball

Other Board Members are Richard L. Ball and Jim McNeil.

          Our 2007 festival was a huge success, due in large part to all the people that attended the event. We heard only good comments about the location and we expect to hold next year's festival in the same location.

        Of course, everyone enjoyed our entertainers. Highland Reign was outstanding as was the Bear Notes from Murphy, NC and Frettin' on Faith from Ringgold, Georgia.

      We must not forget to thank Judy O'Neal of local TV station UCTV. The publicity that she provided for our Appalachian/Celtic festival  was invaluable. Also, the Walker County Messenger provided us with an immense amount of publicity both before and after the event.

     To all the Scottish Clans that were attendance: Thank you for being a part of our festival.

      We hope to see every one of our entertainers, attendees, vendors and Scottish Clans again next year.
     Our 2008 festival is tentatively planned for Aug. 30 & 31, 2008 at Lee & Gordon's Mill.

 Our 2008 Festival is planned for Saturday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)and Sunday, (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) Aug. 30 & 31 at Historic Lee & Gordon's Mill in Chickamauga, GA. Special thanks
go to Jeff Carlock, manager; and John Culpepper of the City of Chickamauga.
